08:01 PM will you be my friend?
I just stumbled across this yahoogroup, to which Google sends a regular newsletter with fun tidbits and new features. Something new I picked up in last month's issue is the “Define:” command, which lets you look up the meaning of a word. For the last few years I've had my default home page in my browser set to an HTML file on my web server with input boxes to my most used sites (search engines, dictionary.com, stock prices, a list of specs by author, etc). Now I don't even need that. Nice!

Agreed... site: has been a mainstay of my google diet for quite a while (and I find site:support.microsoft.com more useful than www.google.com/microsoft). - Anonymous

I love that command. I also frequently use the "site:<domain>" to limit searches to a specific domain. I wish Google would do acronyms...it does some, but for those that are real words (SOAP, CASE, etc.) define: doen't work so well. - Anonymous

I didn't know "define:" existed, I just kept on doing web search and clicking in the underline word in the blue bar (that gets you to the definition as well). - Anonymous

Hey you dont even need to type that Define: any more,
the google Deskbar(beta) has shortcuts for everything once installed in Windows.
just hit Ctrl-shift-g to get to the deskbar then type your word then hit ctrl-d plus shares, images and anyone you want to add your self.
I love google. - Anonymous

awesome KC! Nice tip!
I use "site:.au" to limit the search to Australian sites.
