Coffee - My Addiction

As I am working away at 11:45 PM, I find myself thinking about tomorrow morning and whether I should make my mocha before the kids head out for school or after they leave.  The fact that I'm "obsessing" about my coffee (mocha) this late at night makes me realize that I am indeed addicted.  Oh my goodness, I'm an addict!!!!

Since I'm on the topic, let's just go ahead and talk about coffee and what I like to drink.  For those of you who attend my webcasts or have seen me present live, you know that I usually have a mocha.  When I'm at home, I prefer to make it myself.  When I'm on the road, I usually (99.9%) buy a Starbucks - although I had a very good experience last week with Peet's coffee in the Reno Airport.

I am not picky about the coffee beans as I find it doesn't make much of a difference since I like to drink mochas.  I buy the 3 lb bag of coffee beans at my local Costco, Kirkland Vanilla Soy (also from Costco) and Silk Wave Chocolate Soy from Sprouts.  I grind the beans just before I use them so it is nice and fresh.  Since I am lactose intolerant and prefer not to use chocolate syrup, I use a mix of Vanilla soy milk and Chocolate soy milk (no High Fructose Corn Syrup - HFCS).  I have a 13 year old Krups expresso machine that I make my mochas with.  I have also turned my wife into an addict, so I usually make one for myself and one for my wife when I'm at home.

When I'm on the road, I choose to go to Starbucks because they are consistent and usually in every city that I visit.  They also carry Silk Wave Soy milk (same as what I use at home) as an alternative to cow's milk as that is a requirement for me.  Most of the time, I order a Triple Venti Soy, No Whip, No Foam Mocha; but on occasion, I will order a Grande.  I also like the Blueberry oatbars or the coffee crumble cake to go with the mocha.

Since all of my friends know that I'm a coffee addict and that I go to Starbucks a lot, they know the perfect gift to get me for my birthday or Christmas or any gift giving occasion - a Starbucks gift card (or some have given me a Starbucks Christmas ornament).

Last week, my wife decided to add up all the money I spent at Starbucks (based on the receipts I brought home) during the months of February and March (when I was on the road every week).  Any guesses on what the number came out to be????  Let's have a little fun and have everyone post a guess and what your favorite caffeine drink is.

To start things off on the right track, don't even guess anything less than $100.

I figured I would add to this thread.  I will reveal how much I spent on Monday, April 16th before I catch my flight to Billings, Montana.  So far, there have been some very good guesses.  I think I'll go ahead and add another hint: The top limit is not above $500. This means that Joshua will have to post another guess since we already know he's wrong.  :-) Harold Wong

My guess on your coffee addiction for those two months is approx $350.  Next time you are in Denver, I'll have to treat you to a great coffee shop a block from my house called Aviano Cafe.  Since discovering it last yrear I have not been back to Starbucks!

Being a Starbucks addict myself, ordering a Venti Soy with Whip White Chocolate Mocha and getting it from Monday through Friday, I would have to guess you've spent about $575 or so! How'd I do? :)
