Apply to be a beta tester for a future version of Windows Media Center
If you've ever been interested in trying out beta versions of Windows Media Center and providing feedback that helps determine what features will be included in future editions of the product, now is your chance! As Jessica announced yesterday on this Green Button forum post, there is an online application form available to sign up for a chance to be a Media Center beta tester.
You can apply by filling out the web form located at the following link:
Please note the following caveats listed on that application form:
- You will need to have a passport account in order to log on and complete the form
- Not all applications can be accepted due to the high volume of applicants - the team will try to find beta testers with a wide range of interests and from many different locales in order to get a wider sampling of feedback
- If you are chosen, you will be contacted vai email by May 31, 2007
Update - I just found out that if you were a member of the Windows Vista Media Center beta program, you do not need to re-apply.
<update date="4/19/2007"> Added an update indicating that existing Windows Vista Media Center beta program members do not need to re-apply on this web form </update>

Hi Davidtjudd - Do you mean that you were a part of the Windows Vista Media Center beta program, or have you already been accepted to a newer beta? I think to be safe it would be best to apply on the form on the Connect site.Anonymous

Thanks Aaron. I'll go ahead and apply. I was a VMC and R2 tester. Just trying to be lazy and skip the long hardware form on connect :)Anonymous

Hi Davidtjudd - I talked to the Media Center beta coordinators and they let me know that if you are an existing Media Center beta tester, then you do not need to re-apply. I'm sorry for the confusion I might have caused here.Anonymous

Hi Bmacrow - I'm sorry but I don't know what the notification plan is for this program. I would suggest being patient for now and checking back on the http://connect.microsoft.com site periodically.
