Performance Issues with SCOM Manager Interface

I recently installed SCOM 2022 on a new server's 2022 virtual machine. Everything seems to be running fine, and the virtual machine is quite fast.

However, the SCOM console interface is consistently very slow. Sometimes it takes up to 20 seconds to switch between interfaces. It's frustrating when a task that should only take a few clicks ends up taking several minutes..

Is this normal performance for SCOM? If not, where should I look to find the cause of the slowdown?

    Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these performance issues with SCOM 2022. It's definitely not typical for the SCOM console to be that slow.

Here are some potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    • Ensure that your SCOM environment is correctly configured, including the management server, database, and agents. Verify that all components are up to date and running optimally.
    • Check the overall performance of your server, including CPU, memory, and disk usage. If the system is under heavy load or resource constraints, it can lead to slowdowns.
    • The performance of the SCOM database can significantly impact the console's responsiveness. Ensure that your database is optimized and not experiencing any issues.
    • Check if there are additional management packs or more monitoring objects that could be contributing to the increased load[1].
    • If you have any third-party extensions or custom management packs, consider disabling them temporarily to see if they are contributing to the delay[1].
    • Examine SCOM logs and Windows Event Viewer on the SCOM server and monitored servers for any error messages or warnings that could provide insights into the cause of the issue.

Let me know if you need more detailed instructions on any of these steps!
