Your Role: Global Administrator and 1 other roles does not work with Databricks

Question

Hi,

Your Role: Global Administrator and 1 other roles. This I can see In Roles and Administrators.

But I cannot - from Databricks - get to Manage Account from email on top right, which means I am not Global Administrator.

What is the problem? Seems contradictory and cannot assign Unity Catalog therefore.

Sorry to hear that, perhaps Global Administrator is not gonna help you;

You need Databricks Account Admin (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databricks/admin/)

1. Global Administrator in Azure AD:
   • Being a Global Administrator in Azure AD gives you full control over Azure AD resources, but it does not automatically grant you administrative access to Databricks unless your Databricks account is explicitly linked to Azure AD roles.
2. Databricks Account Admin:
   • To manage Databricks account-level settings (e.g., Unity Catalog, workspace creation, user management), you need the Account Admin role in Databricks. This is separate from Azure AD roles.
