Using SCCM to upgrade Windows 10 to Windows 11 24H2, the deployment appears to be successful, however, the installation fails on the client with error code 0x80d02002.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Any insights would be appreciated.

    Hi, @sover steve

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

The error code 0x80d02002 during the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 can often be related to compatibility or deployment configuration problems.

For troubleshooting, you might want to check the following:

    1. Compatibility: Ensure that the hardware and software on the client machine meet the requirements for Windows 11. Incompatible software can block the upgrade process.
    2. Logs: Review the logs, if you use IPU, you may check SMSTS.log, for more detailed error messages that could provide insights into why the installation is failing.
    3. Network Issues: If the upgrade is failing during a specific phase, it may be beneficial to check the network configuration and ensure there are no connectivity issues with the Configuration Manager server.

How are you upgrading? IPU or a feature update? Have you checked the client side logs? If the upgrade process kicked off then you should see some activity in the panther logs.
