ConfigMgr v2409. Admin Console crashes after running a deployment directly from an Application. Deploying an Application from a Collection works. Looks like a bug- can you confirm?

Hello everyone, I have the same problem that the SCCM console in version 5.2409.1183.1000 crashes when linking the deployments to a collection or when creating collections. Has anyone already found a solution or workaround for this problem?

I will upgrade my SCCM from 2403 to 2409, and do a test to see if I have same issue.

After upgrading to SCCM 2409, I can run a deployment directly from an Application without any issue, you may check SCCM console related logs:

Just upgraded test from 2303 to 2409 and have the same behavior. The console crashes in the Deploy Software Wizard, General tab as soon as I pick a device collection. The console will crash within a couple of seconds of picking a collection. If I stay on General it'll crash, if I click Next the next tab will show briefly then the whole console crashes. The error in SMSAdminUI.log says:

Just checking if you upgrade the console to the newest version after upgrading SCCM version. Make sure the console version is 5.2409.1183.1000
I have the same problem on three CM 2409 servers I manage. No problem before 2409 upgrade. Happens in Win2025 and Win2022, but not for every deployment. It can happen for one application for all collections on just one collection. Whatever the scenario, it always happens for that app/collection combination making deployment impossible (unless someone knows of a work-around). I do have the latest console (5.2409.1183.1000). Some deployments still work, some do not. (I've had this problem for a couple of weeks, and am glad to finally find others with the same problem.)

hello, do we have some new information regarding this error, please? After upgrade to 2409 (console 5.2409.1183.1000) two days ago, my collogues report the same issue during deployment process.

As a "quick fix", I found that after bringing up the collection to deploy to, waiting 10 seconds before selecting the collection causes it to not crash.
