CBaseWindow.PaintWindow method
[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. The PaintWindow method causes the window to be repainted.

Boolean value that specifies whether the background is erased. If the value is TRUE, the background is erased.
Return value
This method does not return a value.
Remarks
This method generates a WM_PAINT message by invalidating the window's entire client area.
