CBaseRenderer.PrepareRender method
[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]
The PrepareRender
method is called before the filter renders a sample.
Syntax
virtual void PrepareRender();
Parameters
This method has no parameters.
Return value
This method does not return a value.
Remarks
The filter calls this method before it calls the CBaseRenderer::OnReceiveFirstSample method or the CBaseRenderer::Render method. PrepareRender
does not do anything in the base class. The derived class can override it to perform any actions required before rendering. For example, a video renderer can override this method to realize its palette.
