IAMOverlayFX::GetOverlayFX method (strmif.h)
[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]
The GetOverlayFX
method retrieves the effects currently applied to the overlay surface, if any. The application can call this method while the filter graph is running.
Syntax
HRESULT GetOverlayFX(
[out] DWORD *lpdwOverlayFX
);
Parameters
[out] lpdwOverlayFX
Pointer a variable that receives a value indicating which effects, if any, are currently applied to the overlay surface. The value is a logical combination of flags from the AMOVERLAYFX enumeration.
Return value
Returns an HRESULT value that depends on the implementation of the interface. The DirectShow implementation returns S_OK if successful, or E_POINTER to indicate a NULL pointer argument.
