GetFriendlyNameOfCertW function (cryptdlg.h)

The GetFriendlyNameOfCert function retrieves the display name for a certificate.
Syntax

Parameters
[in] pccert
A pointer to the certificate context whose display name is being retrieved.
pwch
A pointer to a character string that receives the display name for the certificate.
cwch
Number of characters allocated for pwch, including the terminating NULL character.
Return value
The return value is the number of characters, including the terminating NULL character, in the returned display name.
Remarks
Note
The cryptdlg.h header defines GetFriendlyNameOfCert as an alias that automatically selects the ANSI or Unicode version of this function based on the definition of the UNICODE preprocessor constant. Mixing usage of the encoding-neutral alias with code that is not encoding-neutral can lead to mismatches that result in compilation or runtime errors.
