Sample Plotter Driver Files
Important
The modern print platform is Windows' preferred means of communicating with printers. We recommend that you use Microsoft's IPP inbox class driver, along with Print Support Apps (PSA), to customize the print experience in Windows 10 and 11 for printer device development.
For more information, see Modern print platform and the Print support app design guide.
The Windows Driver Kit (WDK) for Windows 7 includes the following MSPlot sample code:
Source code for the plotter driver user interface DLL (plotui.dll)
Source code for the plotter driver renderer (plotter.dll)
Source code for plotgpc.exe, which generates .pcd files.
A sample minidriver text file, which can be used as input to plotgpc.exe.
Samples are located in a subdirectory of the directory tree that contain the WDK samples. The plotter driver renderer (plotter.dll) can be compiled as either a user-mode or a kernel-mode DLL. For more information, see Choosing User Mode or Kernel Mode.
