StorPortSpinLock3 rule (storport)

The StorPortSpinLock3 rule verifies the lock acquisition hierarchy that is described in the documentation for the StorPortAcquireSpinLock routine.

Storport miniport drivers must ensure that they do not attempt to acquire a lock that is already held or acquire locks in an incorrect order. Either of these mistakes will result in system deadlock.

At compile time

Run Static Driver Verifier and specify the StorPortSpinLock3 rule.

Use the following steps to run an analysis of your code:
  1. Prepare your code (use role type declarations).
  2. Run Static Driver Verifier.
  3. View and analyze the results.
