A

Assembly
A model that contains two or more independently-defined objects that are connected or interlocked either during or after the 3D manufacturing process is complete. An assembly might be able to be reversed or the individual parts may be inseparably interlocked.

Back
The maximum printable XZ plane of the print area or the correspondent maximum plane of a model bounding box, once transformed to the output coordinate space.

Bottom
The minimum printable XY plane of the print area or the correspondent minimum plane of a model bounding box, once transformed to the output coordinate space.

F

Front
The minimum printable XZ plane of the print area or the correspondent minimum plane of a model bounding box, once transformed to the output coordinate space.

L

Left
The minimum printable YZ plane of the print area or the correspondent minimum plane of a model bounding box, once transformed to the output coordinate space.

M

Model
The set of objects that are to be manufactured as part of a single job. This may include a single object, multiple instances of the same object, multiple different objects, or multiple objects in an assembly.

N

Nozzle
In a fused filament deposition device, the chamber and aperture from which molten filament is extruded.

R

Raft
A raft is an extruded mesh designed to help a model adhere to a heated platform for fused filament deposition devices.

Right
The maximum printable YZ plane of the print area or the correspondent maximum plane of a model bounding box, once transformed to the output coordinate space.

S

Supports
Fused filament deposition printers require supporting scaffolding for overhanging areas in the model so that filament does not fall to the platform or model below when it is extruded; this scaffolding is referred to as exterior supports.

T

Tool
An component of a 3D manufacturing device responsible for adding new material to a model in an additive process (for example, an extruder or jet) or removing material from a model in a subtractive process (for example, a router bit or a drill bit).
