We explore what learning looks like in the 21st century and how innovative teaching practices can support the development of these important skills.

This module begins a learning path for 21st century learning design. The learning path helps educators learn how 21CLD supports integrating Microsoft tools, including Office 365, Teams, OneNote Class Notebook, and more, into their curriculum. The 21CLD curriculum consists of eight self-contained modules:

  • This introductory module explains the history of 21st learning design, the reason it's needed, and the research behind the entire curriculum
  • The next six modules focus on each of the 21st century dimensions (or skills):  
    • Knowledge construction
    • Collaboration
    • Real-world problem solving and innovation
    • Skilled communication
    • Self-regulation  
    • Information and communication technology (ICT) for learning
  • The final module ties all the 21CLD elements together and helps educators put principles into practice
