View the big picture
While educators focus on the learners in their classes or support services groups, school leaders and system coordinators can focus on the bigger picture via organizational data. Education Insights Premium allows organizations to analyze and act on data from the system level to the individual learner. At the system leader level, Insights reports provide detailed information about Reading Progress data.
From the upper bar in the Reading Progress report, education leaders can view the:
- Total number of learners in the system
- Average accuracy rate
- Number of learners using Reading Progress
- Assignments per learner
System leaders can also filter this data by course, grade level, genre, reading level, and date range. The colored charts provide a visual reference for:
- Reading accuracy
- Punctuation errors
- Number of assignments per learner
- Percentage of learners using Reading Progress by date
- Challenging words in word cloud form
Each of these data points includes hover tips with additional data.
Data, along with Education Insights Premium, leads to empowered action, providing more opportunities to improve learner performance. Following are several real-world examples of its usefulness.
A system leader notices a downward trend in Reading Progress reading level data in grade 5 learners. They filter the data by grade level to generate a report of reading progress by school. In this report, they notice that one school is clearly outperforming other schools with similar demographics. The system leader schedules a check-in with the higher performing school leader to ask questions about what this school and its educators are doing to support their learners in reading fluency. They apply this information—made possible by the data revealed by Insights—to improve reading fluency across all schools.
In another scenario, a system leader notices that year 4 learners are consistently scoring low in reading fluency in Reading Progress. They contact the reading curriculum coordinator and determine that a full review of the year 4 reading curriculum is in order. The system leader advocates for a new curricular approach that supports learners in new ways and works with a pilot group to provide feedback on what positively impacts learner growth.
Education Insights Premium provides school leaders and system coordinators with the information they need to make decisions to ensure the best possible outcomes for their learners.
