Learner resubmission of Reading Progress assignments
Once an assignment is graded, the educator can return it to learners for review or revision. When an assignment is returned, learners can view their accuracy, expression, and comprehension report. An assignment returned to a learner for review can show them:
- The recorded video
- Correct words per minute
- Their accuracy rate
- Their reading errors
- Their expression errors
- Their comprehension results
- The words they practiced with Reading Coach
If a learner selects a word marked as an error, they have many options for learning from their mistake, including:
- Jump to word: Hear how they pronounced it in the video
- Listen to this word: Hear the correct pronunciation of the word
- Practice word: Launch Reading Coach to practice reading the word
If the educator chooses to return the assignment for revision, the learner has an opportunity to try the same reading passage again. Building reading fluency with extra practice is effective for many types of learners.
When the educator returns the assignment for resubmission, the learner receives a notification in Teams. When the learner opens the assignment and the attached work, they access a reading report.
The contents of the reading report are based on the educator’s selection:
- Full report: All details including the learner’s video, marked passage, and error summary for accuracy and expression
- Simplified report: Only the learner’s video and marked passage
- Custom report: Specific details the educator selects
If the educator included the following options in the assignment, the reading report also shows:
- Results of the learner’s comprehension answers
- The learner’s pronunciation of challenge words identified for extra practice in Reading Coach
After they review the reading report, they complete a new recording and resubmit the assignment. The assignment’s version history shows the educator when the assignment was completed, returned, and resubmitted.
