Introduction
Finance insights is a powerful forecasting tool that can help your organization predict customer payments, forecast cash flows, and generate budget proposals. The purpose of Finance insights is to use intelligent machine learning to facilitate users and give them the necessary tools to make informed decisions about their organization.
This module guides you through the following steps for setting up Finance insights in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance:
- Set up Microsoft Entra ID.
- Enable Microsoft Power Platform.
- Set up Finance insights in Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services.
- Enable customer payment predictions, cash flow forecasting, and budget proposals within Dynamics 365 Finance.
To use the functionality, you'll need to install the Finance insights add-in to your Dynamics 365 Finance environment. To do so, you'll need to meet the following prerequisites:
- A Tier-2 environment is required to use Finance insights. For more information, see Environment planning.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance version 10.0.21 or later.
- At least one year of historical data in Dynamics 365 Finance to correctly train the machine learning model that's used for the Customer payment predictions feature. Three years of historical data for the Cash flow forecast feature are recommended, and three years of historical budget and/or actual data for the Budget proposals feature.
