Canvas LTI® integration setup

After class teams are created (as outlined in unit 2), Canvas administrators can install the Teams Assignments LTI in the root account (or individual subaccounts, if applicable) of Canvas LMS.

Install the Teams Assignment LTI app in Canvas LMS

  1. Sign in to the institution’s root account.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Developer Keys.
  3. Select the Inherited tab.
  4. Search for the Teams Assignments app.
  5. Select the State toggle switch to turn it on.
  6. Select the OK button.
  7. Copy the Client ID for the Teams Assignments app from the Developer Keys list.
  8. From the navigation menu, select Settings.
  9. Select the Apps tab.
  10. Select the View App Configurations button.
  11. Select the + App button.
  12. In the Add App window, select the Configuration Type dropdown menu.
  13. Select By Client ID.
  14. Paste in the Client ID of the Teams Assignments app.
  15. Select the Submit button.
  16. Select the Install button.

The first time an educator, learner, or course member launches the Assignments app, they need to sign in with their work or school Microsoft credentials.
