Maintenance requests are used to notify the planning manager or planner that an asset needs maintenance or repair. The manager or planner will review the request for maintenance and determine, based on the information provided, if the maintenance request is approved and will need to have a work order created or if the request requires additional information or the maintenance request is not necessary and is then closed.

For example, when the maintenance request is approved, a work order is created and can be used for the following functions:

  • Maintenance requests – Requests for maintenance or repair on an asset.
  • Notes – Notes or communication about an asset.
  • Corrections – Repairs on an asset.
  • Enhancements – Updates or improvements that are made on assets.
  • Investments – Newly purchased assets to be installed.
  • Depot repair - Used for assets in another location that are received, repaired, and then returned to the location when complete.
