Introduction
Suppose you work for Contoso, Ltd., a growing financial services company that's based in London and has a branch office in New York. The company uses Microsoft 365 and Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). Its on-premises Active Directory instance is syncing to Microsoft Entra ID with the use of Microsoft Entra Connect.
The IT director has asked you to evaluate the risks and benefits to using Azure Virtual Desktop to support remote workers. The key aspects of the evaluation will be functionality, scalability, security, and the cost of Azure Virtual Desktop.

- Access Azure Virtual Desktop from the Azure portal.
- Explain the requirements and architecture for an Azure Virtual Desktop deployment and assess its security.
- Secure the user identity that can access the Azure Virtual Desktop environment.
- Use AppLocker to secure the accessed desktop.

Prerequisites
- An Azure account with an active subscription
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Azure services such as core Azure compute, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
- Intermediate knowledge of Azure operational concepts, such as monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Knowledge of security concepts at a fundamental level.
