Summary

Completed

This module covered the basic mechanics behind Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP). You learned about inventory positioning and the importance of identifying decoupling points. You can determine decoupling points based on key items in a bill of materials (BOM) that might cause cascading item shortages if they're under-supplied. Additionally, you learned about buffer profiles and levels and the means through which you'll determine your minimum, maximum, and reorder point values. Then, you learned about the mechanics through which DDMRP operates in terms of prioritizing and planning orders. Finally, you discovered some ways in which DDMRP will allow you to view high-level information.
