Work order hour control calculation
You can calculate hours to get an overview of the actual hours compared to budgeted hours on assets, functional locations, or work orders. Actual hours are based on posted transactions.
Create a work order hour control for assets, functional locations, and work orders
The calculations that are made for assets, functional locations, and work orders are almost identical. The only difference is that for assets and functional locations, you can also include sub assets and sub locations in your calculation. The date is the transaction date when the registration was recorded.
Select the path based on the hour control type that you want to access:
- For the Asset hour control type, go to Asset management > Inquiries > Assets > Asset hour control
- For the Functional location hour control type, go to Asset management > Inquiries > Assets > Functional location hour control
- For the Work order hour control type, go to Asset management > Inquiries > Work orders > Work order hour control
In the Asset hour control, Functional location hour control, or Work order hour control dialog box, select a period to be calculated in the From date and To date fields.
Select a Financial dimension set to be included in the calculation.
Select Yes on the Skip zero toggle button if you don't want to show results with zero hours included.
The Level field assigns how detailed you want the hour control lines to be for functional locations.
- 1 = All locations in a multi-level functional location are added together and shown in the top-level functional location.
- 0 = All detailed values of all multi-level lines of the functional location are shown.
Select Yes on the Include sub assets toggle button to show costs that are related to sub assets as separate lines.
To limit your search, you can select specific assets, functional locations, or work orders on the Records to include FastTab.
Select OK to start the calculation.
The Hour control tab consists of subsections that allow you to group the data by Group by date, Group by work order, Group by asset, and Group by functional location. Select the option that is available under the Group by buttons to show the detail level of the calculation that you want, such as Group by date, and then select Quarter.
Asset management > Inquiries > Work orders > Work order hour control
The following steps show another way for you to make an hour calculation:
- Select multiple assets in All assets or Active assets.
- Select the Hour control button on the General FastTab. The selected assets are automatically inserted in the Asset field on the Records to include FastTab.
- Select OK in the Asset hour control dialog box; the calculations for the selected assets are shown.
Note
The same procedure can be done for functional locations in All functional locations or Active functional locations and for work orders in All work orders or Active work orders.
