Use Teams meetings with Canvas
The integration of Canvas courses with Microsoft Teams provides learners a safe and secure space to connect and collaborate. With Microsoft integration turned on and course rosters synchronized, creating a Microsoft Teams meeting is easy.
Options to invite individual learners, groups, or a whole class at once makes it easy for educators and learners to meet virtually. Many courses, clubs, professional learning communities, and faculty meet at specific time or date intervals.
For a consistent experience, scheduling a virtual meeting space with Microsoft Teams in a Canvas course gives educators and administrators all the same meeting options that are available in Microsoft Teams. They can expect the same consistent experience in editing and adjusting meeting options and restrictions for attendees.
Schedule a Teams meeting
- Select the quick access link to Teams meetings in the Canvas course navigation menu.
- Select + New meeting to create a virtual meeting.
- Give the meeting a title.
- Set the time schedule.
- Select Add the entire class to add all the learners in the class. (Depending on the size of the course roster, this process might take a few moments, but it’s a great time-saving tool.)
Once the meeting is scheduled and sent, educators and learners in the Canvas course can see a list of scheduled meetings. This quick access link is convenient for learners to navigate and be aware of upcoming meetings.
Edit meeting details and options
Once a Microsoft Teams meeting is scheduled, educators can edit a single occurrence or entire series of meetings. Select the Edit button to adjust meeting details. When you’re creating the meeting and inviting attendees, select the three dots (۰۰۰) to access many key settings that are available to educators under ⚙ Meeting options.
