Calculate an item forecast

Completed

Similar to capacity load calculations, item forecast calculations can be made on the following locations:

  • Maintenance schedule lines
  • Work orders that have not yet been scheduled
  • Scheduled work orders

You can also make a calculation on a maintenance downtime activity (All maintenance downtime activities or Active maintenance downtime activities) or on a work order pool (All work order pools or Active work order pools).

The three ways to access item forecast information are:

  • Asset management > Inquiries > Item forecast
  • Asset management > Work order pools > All work order pools / Active work order pools > select a work order pool in the list > Item forecast
  • Asset management > Maintenance downtime activities > All maintenance downtime activities / Active maintenance downtime activities > select maintenance downtime activity in the list > Item forecast

Regardless of which method you select, the Calculate item forecast dialog box appears.

  1. Enter the time frame for the item forecast calculation in the Start date/time and End date/time fields. For example, if you want to run an item forecast for the month of January, enter 1 January 2020 in the Start date/time field and 31 January 2020 in the End date/time field.
  2. In addition to the time forecast, you can include the maintenance schedule and the work orders by selecting Yes on the Include maintenance schedule and the Include work order toggle buttons.
  3. The Level field lets you define the level of detail for item forecast lines by functional location. For example, if you have a multi-level functional location and you enter 1 in the field, then the maintenance schedule lines and work orders for that functional location will appear at the top level. If you enter 0 in the field, you will see all maintenance schedule lines and work orders for all functional locations.
  4. When you are done, select OK to start the calculation.
  5. Similar to the Capacity load tab, on the Item forecast tab, you can select various options to add more information to the report. You can complete this task by asset, asset type, functional location, and so on.
