System process status
A typical Customer Insights - Data instance has many different elements involved that affect how the data is being presented and what can be done in the application. These elements include everything from ingesting the data into the application and creating the unified customer profile, to defining the measures and segments that will be used in the application.
Because many of these items are dependent on each other, you need the ability to identify the statuses of different tasks and processes in the application. For example, a measure that calculates how much a customer has spent over their lifetime might not have the most current information if the data sources that are associated with the measure haven't been refreshed recently.
On the Status tab, you can track the progress of tasks, data ingestion, data exports, and several other important product processes. It's a good idea to review the information on this tab regularly to ensure the completeness of your active tasks and processes.
Tasks will be grouped into different categories, such as data sources, intelligence, activity, or measures. Based what you have set up in your Customer Insights - Data environment, the specific groupings and tasks will vary. For each task that is displayed, the tab will display the status of the most recent run and when it was last updated. You can view more details by selecting the status of the process, which will open the Progress details pane.
Customer Insights - Data uses the following statuses for tasks and processes.
Status | Definition |
---|---|
Canceled | Processing was canceled by the user before it finished. |
Failed | Data ingestion ran into errors. |
Failure | Processing has failed. |
Not started | The data source has no data ingested yet or is still in draft mode. |
Processing | Task or process is in progress. |
Refreshing | Data ingestion is in progress. You can cancel this operation by selecting Stop refreshing in the Actions column. Stopping the refresh of a data source will revert it to its last refresh state. |
Skipped | Task or process was skipped. One or more of the downstream processes that the task depends on are failing or were skipped. |
Successful | Task or process completed successfully. |
Queued | Processing is queued and will start when all upstream tasks and processes are completed. |
As previously mentioned, it's a good idea to review statuses regularly to ensure completeness of your active tasks and processes.
