The Microsoft Education AI Toolkit is intended for education leaders—at universities, primary and secondary schools, state departments, and ministries of education. The toolkit helps equip you at various stages of your AI journey with knowledge, strategies, and tips to confidently advance your use of generative AI technologies.

The toolkit is organized into five main categories: Overview, Plan, Implement, AI Navigators, and Research. Use the navigation tabs in PDF file to quickly access these sections, where you can explore frameworks, guidelines, examples, and more.

  • Overview: Introduces the AI Toolkit including an overview of how to use the resource, basic Microsoft Copilot guidance, and a summary and history of AI.
  • Plan: Includes valuable resources for education and technology leaders to prepare AI programs. These resources emphasize proactive planning, covering responsible AI frameworks, institutional policies, infrastructure and security, and communication strategies. They aim to initiate conversations, start planning processes, and build community support for successful AI programs.
  • Implement: Provides valuable overviews of Microsoft AI, summaries of Copilot tools, and recommended practices and resources for professional learning. This section highlights how various members of a school community can benefit from the tool and includes example prompts to try.
  • AI Navigators:: Contains a global collection of schools, districts, educational organizations, and higher education institutions worldwide to inspire your AI journey. Featuring success stories and technical guides, you can explore resources and take your first steps toward implementation.
  • Research: Curates resources focused on the effective use and adoption of generative AI technologies has emerged as more and more universities, schools, ministries and state departments of education have begun experimenting and adopting them at various levels within their organization.
