  • You browse to the Central Administration website. You browse to Manage Content Databases. In the Web Application: menu on the page, select SharePoint Central Administration v4. Then follow the link for the SharePoint_AdminContent_<GUID> content database. The Database Schema Versions area includes the following:

    </object>

  • On the SharePoint Server, you use the SharePoint 2016 Management Shell to run:

    The results include:

    Level          : 5
    Status         : NeedsUpgradeBackwardsCompatible

    Get-SPWebApplication <Central Administration URL> | Get-SPContentDatabase | Upgrade-SPContentDatabase

  2. Run the SharePoint 2016 Products Configuration Wizard from the command line:

    PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures -cmd secureresources
