The following acronyms are commonly used in discussions about read-only domain controllers (RODCs):

  • ACL: access control list

  • ARS: administrator role separation

  • CAR: control access right

  • DN: distinguished name

  • DNS: Domain Naming System

  • DMZ: demilitarized zone

  • FAS: Filtered Attribute Set

  • FAZ: Find Authoritative Zone

  • PRP: Password Replication Policy

  • RODC: read-only domain controller

  • RSO: Replicate Single Object
