Code 14: This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer

Device Manager displays the following message in the Device Properties dialog box, on the General tab, in the Device Status text box:

This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer. (Code 14)

Diagnosis

The installation of a device driver for the device requires overwriting some files that are currently in use.

Resolution

Restart your computer.
