Description
The KeysNotToRestore subkey specifies the names of those registry subkeys and entries that Backup will not restore.
Each of the entries has the following format:
Entry name | Data type | Value |
---|---|---|
component |
REG_MULTI_SZ |
registry path [registry path] |
The paths are relative from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM and can take one of three forms:
A path ending with "\" indicates that neither the subkey nor any of its subkeys or entries will be restored from the backup. Instead, the current values will be preserved.
A path ending with "\*" indicates that neither the subkey nor any of its subkeys and entries will be restored from the backup, but new entries will be merged from the backup.
A path ending with an entry name indicates that the entry will not be restored from the backup.
