Common Criteria for Windows Mobile 6.5

Windows Mobile 6.5 has successfully passed the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) Australasian Information Security Evaluation Program, achieving Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 4 (EAL4). The DSD is Australia's national authority for information security.

The Common Criteria is the driving force for the widest available mutual recognition of secure IT products. Windows Mobile 6.5 is accepted under the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA) by 24 members worldwide.

Common Criteria EAL4 evaluation of Windows Mobile 6.5

This document discusses the independent evaluation of the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system against the international standard ISO/IEC 15408:1999, Common Criteria for Information Technology (IT) Security Evaluation (Version 3.1 Revision 2). Windows Mobile 6.5 has obtained the EAL4 (augmented with ALC_FLR.3) level of assurance. This provides assurance that Windows Mobile has been methodically designed, tested, and reviewed against the requirements stated in the Security Target.
