View and Modify a Chart
Applies To: Windows HPC Server 2008
In HPC Cluster Manager, you can create charts of cluster usage and throughput, to make it easier to monitor the cluster and understand current trends and patterns. You cannot print charts from HPC Cluster Manager, although you can print reports.
For a table that can help you identify the reports and charts that might be useful for your HPC cluster, see Understanding Charts and Reports. For more information about charts, reports, and other ways of monitoring your cluster, see "Additional references," later in this topic.
For information about using HPC Cluster Manager, see Overview of HPC Cluster Manager.
To view and modify a chart
In Charts and Reports, click Monitoring Charts.
In the views pane, scroll down to view any charts that are already displayed. To stop viewing a displayed chart and make room for viewing other charts, click the X (the cancel button) in the upper right corner of the displayed chart.
In the views pane, for Metric, click the visible metric name to see the list of metrics that you can add to the display. (Any metric that is already displayed will not appear in the list.)
Select a chart metric and then click Add. For descriptions of the charts and reports you can choose from, see Understanding Charts and Reports. The available metrics are:
Cluster CPU Usage
Cluster Disk Throughput
Cluster Network Usage
Scheduler Jobs
Scheduler Nodes
Scheduler Cores
Repeat steps 2 through 4 as needed.
If you want to view a chart that spans a different length of time, select the value in X axis (minutes), type a different number of minutes, and then press ENTER.
If you want to modify the scale of the values in the chart (Y axis), click Autoscale until it is turned off (not shaded). Then, for Y axis, type your preferred lower and upper values, and press ENTER.
Additional considerations
