Description
Specifies whether Windows 2000 writes the contents of the system memory to a log file when the system stops unexpectedly. The contents of this log file can be useful in determining why the system stopped.
This entry stores the setting of the Write debugging information box in System in Control Panel. The name and location of the file appear in the DumpFile entry.

Change method
To change the value of this entry, use the System in Control Panel. Click the Advanced tab, then click the Startup and Recovery button. Select one of the options from the drop-down list in the Write Debugging Information box.
Activation method
To make changes to this value effective, you must restart Windows 2000.
