HlinkResolveShortcutToString function

Resolves a hyperlink into strings for location and target.

Syntax

HRESULT HlinkResolveShortcutToString(
            LPCWSTR pwzShortcutFileName,
  _Out_     LPWSTR  *ppwzTarget,
  _Out_opt_ LPWSTR  *ppwzLocation
);

Parameters

  • pwzShortcutFileName
    The shortcut file name.

  • ppwzTarget [out]
    The pointer to the address of the string to help identify the hyperlink target. This string is resolved into a moniker by using MkParseDisplayNameEx.

  • ppwzLocation [out, optional]
    The pointer to the address of the string that represent the location in the hyperlink target for the new hyperlink.

Return value

If this function succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.
