This package contains Message Queuing (MSMQ), a middleware technology that allows applications in a distributed environment to communicate with each other either synchronously or asynchronously. Included in this package is MSMQ support for HTTP, DCOM Proxy, multicasting, and Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI).

Common Uses
A Point of Service (POS) device might queue all the transactions that it processed during a business day and then send them to a centralized server at the end of the day using MSMQ, to ensure their delivery.
Notes
On devices using File-Based Write Filter (FBWF) to protect a volume, the MSMQ queues folder needs to be on the FBWF Exclusion list if persistent queues are desired.
