This method retrieves the handle to the specified parent window of a child window.

Syntax

static HWND WINAPI GetParent_I(
  HWND hwndThis
);

Parameters

  • hwndThis
    [in] Handle to the window for which a parent window handle is to be retrieved.

Return Value

A handle to the parent window indicates success. NULL indicates that the window has no parent window. To get extended error information, call GetLastError.

Remarks

This method is an internal version of the GetParent function.
