Changing the Default Terminal Profile (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/6/2010

The terminal profile is sent by the Mobile Equipment (ME) to the SIM card as part of the SIM initialization procedure. The terminal profile values indicate to the SIM the instruction range supported by the Mobile Equipment (ME). If this information is not sent to the SIM at initialization, the SIM assumes that the ME does not support the SIM toolkit. The specific timing of when the terminal profile is sent during initialization is radio-dependent.

The default terminal profile is available as a registry key setting, and is the value indicated by the HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\RIL\TerminalProfile registry key. The default value for the terminal profile is {0x09, 0x01, 0xFF, 0x7F, 0x60, 0x20, 0x00, 0x10, 0x62, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0F}.
