IMiniSH::GetAddressFromSymbol (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

This method gets the absolute address of a symbol.

Syntax

HRESULT GetAddressFromSymbol(
  DWORD dwPid,
  LPCWSTR pszModule,
  LPCWSTR pszSource,
  LPCWSTR pszRoutine,
  LPCWSTR pszSymbol,
  ADDRESS_TYPE*   pAddress
);

Parameters

  • dwPid
    [in] Process ID, if applicable.
  • pszModule
    [in] Name of the module.
  • pszSource
    [in, unique]Name of the source file.

    The value can be NULL.

  • pszRoutine
    [in, unique]Name of the routine containing the symbol.

    The value can be NULL.

  • pszSymbol
    [in] Name of the symbol.
  • pOffset
    [out] Pointer to the symbol address.

Value Description

S_OK

Indicates the function was successful.

E_INVALIDARG

Indicates one or more invalid arguments.

E_POINTER

Indicates one or more invalid pointer values.

E_OUTOFMEMORY

Indicates an out of memory error.

E_FAIL

Indicates an unspecified failure.

Remarks

IMiniSH::SetSymbolPath must be called prior to this method for it to succeed.

ulPid differentiates between processes that have the same module name. On Windows Embedded CE, ulPid is interpreted as the slot number.

The following table describes behavior based on the values of ulPid and pszModule.
