Enabling Active or Passive KITL (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/5/2010

In Platform Builder, you can configure settings for the kernel independent transport layer (KITL) that supports debugging services. The default setting is active KITL, which automatically initializes KITL and establishes a connection when the target device starts. The alternate mode, passive KITL, initializes KITL but does not establish a connection when the target device starts. For more information, see Active and Passive KITL.

To enable passive KITL

  1. From the Target menu in the IDE, choose Connectivity Options.

  2. Choose Core Service Settings.

  3. Verify that the Enable KITL on device boot check box is cleared, and then choose Apply.

To enable active KITL

  1. From the Target menu in the IDE, choose Connectivity Options.

  2. Choose Core Service Settings.

  3. Verify that the Enable KITL on device boot check box is selected, and then choose Apply.
