USB Boot Limitations

USB boot imposes the following limitations on Windows XP Embedded:

  • Crash dumps are not generated during USB boot.
  • Pagefile is not supported.
  • Power management functions such as hibernation and standby are not supported with USB boot.
  • EWF HORM is not supported.
  • ufdprep.exe does not handle USB fixed disks. Use DISKPART and FORMAT or other applicable utilities provided by the vendor to partition and format these disks.
