IsAutoAlias

Indexing Service is no longer supported as of Windows XP and is unavailable for use as of Windows 8. Instead, use Windows Search for client side search and Microsoft Search Server Express for server side search.
The IsAutoAlias entry controls whether Indexing Service automatically creates aliases for file shares.

Remarks
Set the value of the IsAutoAlias entry to one to enable aliasing. Aliasing is a convenience for users accessing remote shares because it allows such users to get a friendly UNC path.
