IAdminIndexServer::SetLongProperty method
[Indexing Service is no longer supported as of Windows XP and is unavailable for use as of Windows 8. Instead, use Windows Search for client side search and Microsoft Search Server Express for server side search.]
Sets a content index registry value of type REG_DWORD, as described in Registry Entries.
Syntax
HRESULT SetLongProperty(
[in] BSTR bstrPropName,
[in] LONG lVal
);
Parameters
-
bstrPropName [in]
-
The name of an existing registry value of type REG_DWORD.
-
lVal [in]
-
The value to be stored.
Return value
If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.
Remarks
This method does not validate that a property name/value is a valid Indexing Service property. It is the caller's responsibility to verify that the property name and value are valid under the HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\ContentIndex entries. If bstrPropName exists, its value is set to lVal. Otherwise, the bstrPropName value name is created and set to lVal.
Examples
' Set the current value of the flag that determines whether
' to filter the system properties of directories.
