IFPCArrays::Connect method

The Connect method connects to the specified ISA Server computer, adds the FPCArray object for the specified server to the collection, and returns a reference to the array object.

Parameters

  • Server [in]

    C++ BSTR that specifies the ISA Server computer to which to connect.
    VB String that specifies the ISA Server computer to which to connect.
  • UserName [in, optional]

    C++ BSTR that specifies the user name. The default value is an empty BSTR.
    VB String that specifies the user name. The default value is an empty string.
  • Domain [in, optional]

    C++ BSTR that specifies the name of the user's domain. The default value is an empty BSTR.
    VB String that specifies the name of the user's domain. The default value is an empty string.
  • Password [in, optional]

    C++ BSTR that specifies the password. The default value is an empty BSTR.
    VB String that specifies the password. The default value is an empty string.
  • ppArray [out]
    Address of an interface pointer that on return points to an IFPCArray interface that represents the containing array of the specified server.

Return value

C++

This method can return one of the following:

  • S_OK, indicating that the operation succeeded.
  • An error code, indicating that the operation failed. In this case, the [out] parameter returned is a null object.

VB

This method returns a reference to the FPCArray object for the ISA Server computer specified if successful. Otherwise, an error is raised that can be intercepted by using an error handler.

Remarks

This method is deprecated in Forefront TMG. Call the ConnectToConfigurationStorageServer or ConnectToConfigServerPort method on the root (FPC) object to connect to a specified Configuration Storage server from a remote management computer. Every Forefront TMG computer with the Microsoft Firewall service installed is also a Configuration Storage server.
