Download to Own Scenario

The Download to Own (one time purchase) scenario is one in which the user has a persistent non-expiring license for the media. The license is acquired proactively and retained forever on the media device.

This scenario demonstrates the following features:

  • Persistent (non-expiring) license
  • Proactive license acquisition
  • License embedding

The Download to Own scenario starts with an end user purchasing media content and downloading it to their media device for playing sometime later. For example, an online video store charges customers to download a video file, which users can then watch with their Web app whenever they want.
