How to: Delete Members from Application Systems
In System Designer, you can delete uses of applications or other systems from a system definition that includes them as members.
Note
Deleting members from a system definition does not delete their underlying definitions. However, this action can affect other distributed system diagrams that reference that member on other system diagrams and deployment diagrams. Prior to deleting members or underlying definitions, see Considerations for Deleting Members and Endpoints from Application Systems, Troubleshooting Deployment Diagrams, and Considerations for Deleting Applications from Application Diagrams.
To delete a member from a system definition
On the system diagram, select the member that you want to delete.
On the Edit menu, choose Delete.
Tip
You can also press the DELETE key or right-click the application or system and choose Delete.
To delete the underlying definition of an application use
On the system diagram, select the application and choose Go To Definition from the Diagram menu.
Tip
You can also right-click the application on the system diagram and choose Go To Definition.
Application Designer displays the application diagram. The definition of the application you chose is the selected shape.
On the Edit menu, choose Delete.
Tip
You can also press the DELETE key or right-click the application or system and choose Delete.
You can also open the application diagram (.ad) file or navigate to the diagram to delete the application definition.

To delete the underlying definition of a system use
Close all other distributed system diagram (.ad, .sd, .dd, and .ldd) files.
Delete the system diagram (.sd) file that defines the use of that system.
