Configuring VPN connections to an IAG server
Applies To: Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG)
Whale Communications Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007 provides virtual private network (VPN) access to the internal corporate network by using the Network Connector application. Network Connector enables you to manage remote VPN client connections as if they were part of the corporate network, supporting full connectivity over a virtual transparent connection. During a Network Connector session, remote endpoint computers are part of the corporate network. Depending on the Network Connector server configuration, they are able to do the following:
Communicate with all the computers in the network, that is, access and be accessed by all other network computers.
Access corporate servers and complex systems such as mail, server message block, File Transfer Protocol, databases, and voice-over-IP applications.
Access the Internet.
Communicate with other remote Network Connector endpoint computers. For example, you can connect to client endpoints in order to install software updates, configure existing applications, or help users troubleshoot their systems.
To enable VPN access, you configure Network Connector and then publish it in an IAG portal. For more information about the Network Connector application, see About VPN access to the internal network_IAG.
Configuring Network Connector consists of the following steps:
Configure a Network Connector server. For instructions, see Configuring an IAG VPN gateway.

Define internal networks available to remote VPN clients. For instructions, see Adding networks for VPN client access to IAG.
Log remote VPN connections. For instructions, see Logging VPN client traffic to IAG.
Publish Network Connector in an IAG portal. For instructions, see Publishing applications in an IAG portal.
