Remarks
There are no special class qualifiers for this class. For more information about both the class qualifiers and the property qualifiers included in the Properties section, see Configuration Manager Class and Property Qualifiers.
Instances of this class are used to build a hierarchy of collections by logically relating one instance of SMS_Collection Server WMI Class to another. Use this class to modify the collection hierarchy, as opposed to using the SMS_CollectToSubCollect_a Server WMI Class class for making the basic relationship.
Because the membership of a collection is defined by its subcollections, in addition to its collection rules, adding or deleting instances of this class modifies the parent collection. Therefore, your application must modify rights to the parent collection to add, delete, or modify instances of this class.
A collection must be defined in the collection hierarchy for it to be visible in the Configuration Manager console. For more information about adding and deleting parent-child relationships in the collection hierarchy, see Configuration Manager Collection Hierarchy.
Instances of this class are automatically deleted if the referenced collection is deleted.
