Tables (Data Source View Designer) (Analysis Services - Multidimensional Data)
Use the Tables pane of Data Source View Designer to modify and manage tables included in the data source view.
The Tables pane displays all of the tables in the data source view. Each table node can be expanded to display the columns and relationships for the selected table.
To include a table in the currently displayed diagram, drag the table from the Tables pane to the diagram pane.
To center the display on a table that is already included in the diagram, select the table in the Tables pane.
Context Menu Options
Right-clicking the name of a table or named query in the Tables pane opens the context menu. The context menu has the following commands:
New Named Calculation
Opens the Create Named Calculation dialog box in which you can create a named calculation for the selected table. For more information, see Create/Edit Named Calculation Dialog Box (Analysis Services).Note
This option is not available if a named query is selected.
New Relationship
Opens the Create Relationship dialog box in which you can create a new relationship in the data source view for the selected table. For more information, see Create/Edit Relationship Dialog Box (Analysis Services - Multidimensional Data).Edit Named Query
Opens the Edit Named Query dialog box in which you can edit the selected named query. For more information, see Create/Edit Named Query Dialog Box (Analysis Services - Multidimensional Data).Note
This option appears only if a named query is selected.
Replace Table
Replaces the table selected in the data source view with either a named query or another table. The following table describes these options.Command
Description
With New Named Query
Opens the Create Named Query dialog box and creates a named query using the structure of the selected table. For more information, see Create/Edit Named Query Dialog Box (Analysis Services - Multidimensional Data).
With Other Table
Opens the Replace Table with Other Table dialog box in which you can replace the selected table with another table or view from the underlying data source. For more information, see Replace Table with Other Table Dialog Box.
Delete Table from DSV
Opens the Delete Objects dialog box in which you can delete the selected table from the data source view. For more information, see Delete objects and files Dialog Box (Analysis Services).Explore Data
Opens the Explore Data dialog box for the selected table. For more information, see Explore Data Dialog Box (Analysis Services - Multidimensional Data).Properties
Opens the properties for the selected table in the Properties window of Business Intelligence Development Studio.
