Grouping and Sorting Data (Report Builder 2.0)
Add groups to a data region when you want to display your data in a visual hierarchy, align multiple data regions to show different views of the same data, or to calculate totals. After the data is grouped, you can sort the data within each group in ascending or descending order to make data easier to locate.
You can create nested groups, adjacent groups, and recursive hierarchy groups (such as an organizational chart). Within a data region, you can create multiple row groups and column groups.
When creating groups, you can add page breaks before and after each group, or each instance of a group, to reduce the amount of data on each page and help you manage report rendering performance.
